Some roses will have bubble tips, some won't.
And it is strange that in the same tank, some will and some won't.
I have some with huge bubbles at all times.
No one really understands why they will or won't stay bubbled up but one thing
I have noticed is mine will bubble after a large meal.
And also I have noticed that the less light they get the more bubbles they have.
It is nothing to worry about if your's looses them though.
Here are some pictures of some of my Roses, some with the bulbs and some without.
Also something else I have noticed over the years is, if the tank has perfect water quality then
they usually do not have bubble tips.
I have never ever done a water test on any of my tanks and rely on that algae on the glass or
Xenia to tell me when I need to do a water change which by the way is not very often.
I usually do one, around 20% in each tank every few months or longer depending on
how many Anemones I have in the tank and how much I have been feeding them and the rest
of the occupants in it.
I do skim heavily tho and that helps to keep the water ok but, every day I have to scrape the glass of
bright pretty green algae.
.
But I keep the water in the 75 cleaner and the three in it never bubble up.
So take this as you will, it is just my experience.
Some older pictures of past Roses
And some that very seldom get them and have very long tentacles. Still older pictures
Here are some newer pictures of some of my roses.(2006)
As you can see some have the elusive bubble tips. And in the other tank they don't.
The beauty below is in my 75g tank, it is half of a 10" rose purchased from a local saltwater store.
Which by the way as of this picture below it is now 3 happy Anemones. 2 are together in the below
picture , the third is to the far right and smaller.
The Clakii in the below picture is 3 inches long to show you the size of the Anemones.

Below is another Anemone that is in my 125 that is always bubbled
up, but several next to her are not.
She is more red then the picture shows, but you get the idea
on the bubbletips.

The picture below you can see 4 BTA's in the picture, the one is always bubbled
up, the rest sometimes.
Below left is one of two LTA's that I also have in this tank.
They touch all the time with no fighting or stinging at all and live
peacefully together.
Here are some more of the roses in my new 125 gallon tank.
The tank has a VHO 72" fixture on it with 6-96w bulbs.
4 are sunlight and 2 are actinics
There are 17 total Anemones in this tank. Those are just the BTA's
I also have two LTA's and one Flower Anemone in the same tank.
If you look closely you will see 3 in this pictures, some are new clones and some
older.

Below is the green that went to red Rose in another section of my web site.
This is the first time it has bubbled up since it was green .
She seems to love the new tank.
(Placed in my 125 when it was set up, used to be in my seahorse tank)

So what I have found is, some will bubble up when feed heavily, some
bubble when I do a water change then go back to long and lanky again.
Some stay bubbled at all times.
I never know what they will do from one day to the next.
So if you have a long tentacle Rose or a bubbly one, don't worry.
They will do as they please.
In the 125 gallon I have 14 Roses.
12 have and keep their bubble tips while 2 have not.
Here are a few pictures I took today (5-27-06)of the two mouth anemone in this tank.
Her bubbles are huge today, about the size of a thumb.
She had two Silversides for dinner this morning so maybe she is extra happy?:)
See her recovery in the section called "Saving them all".
And a closer view

A few updated pictures of some of the 17 roses in this tank
Pictures taken 4-6-07
The first one below is a small split, it is one of three

It's new home is on some new Coral I just added.
Below are the other two equal splits from the same anemone.

As you can see, they are bubbled and always have been.
Here is the largest Anemone in this tank.
The tentacles are the thickness of a thumb or larger, it is always bubbled
like this.
It is 12+ inches across, as seen by the clown in the front who is 2" long.

I took these pictures, below on 7-23-07 of the same Anemone as above.
It has been thinking about splitting for about a week now.
The Tentacles last night were about the size of two thumb widths and looked really huge
compared to the Clown next to them.

And another of the same Anemone

Another of the Anemone above, for some reason, the tentacles get stranger and stranger
This one shows some of it's Tentacles are about the size of two thumbs.
They are huge.
Strange ha?

Below is a full picture of the above Anemone.

Below is an anemone that moved to the back of the tank for a rest, then
decided that the best place to plant it's foot is on the leather's leg.
The leather doesn't seem to mind so I have left them alone to share the space.

Below is a picture of 2 BTA's attached to the intake filter of the hang on filter.
Thanks to the cover they are not being injured nore will they be sucked in.
But it keeps me from cleaning the material, but that's ok.
They are new clones so not in the best of condition.

So, just wanted to share more pictures of all of the BTA's and their bubble tips.
Hope you enjoy seeing them all.
