What is the secret to having BTA's in a mixed Reef?
I have found that if they get hungry they wander.
So I never let my Roses get hungry.
I have been keeping Roses with all of my
other Corals in 2 of my 4 tanks without one moving more than an inch since it's placement.
See my sections on current tanks and the Clowns spawning page for pictures of my mixed Reef tanks.
Here is my 125. I have 17 Roses (as of 9-11-08) in this tank
living with mixed softies.

The picture below is when it was first set up and if you look at
the picture above, you can see how nicely they have all grown
and filled in.

Below is the Left side of the above tank.
I have also added 2 LTA's to see how they get along, they are side by side with 4 BTA's
and are doing just fine.
There was a bit of warfare when I first introduced them, so the Rose has moved to the right a few inches.
Now they get along great as long as they do not touch each other.
So it is best to not mix Anemones in a tank
as usually the rose will loose the battle of the softies for space.
(update on the LTA)
I have added another of the same kind and they are side
by side in the tank
and are in the front, there are two BTA's behind them.

Below is a larger Anemone in my 125 that lives next to Xenia,Yellow Zoos and Frogspawn.
Also in front of her is a bud from her. Cute ha!

Here you can see some of the shrooms and Anemones sharing space.
However, I have found that the Anemone will shrink away from the Shrooms
when it touches them as seen in the picture below.

Here are some Xenia and Roses side by side, they get along great with no stinging at all.
There are three Roses in the picture, all are Buds from my largest Anemone that buds about once a month.
My 75 gallon mixed reef houses 12 large BTA's and rocks
covered in Mushrooms.
It also houses several fish including a pair of Spawning Clarki Clowns.

And it now has 12 large BTA's, all from One large that has split several times.

Above is the right side of the tank where the Anemones live.
Something I am seeing in this tank is the Anemones are splitting great
but are staying as far away from the encroaching shrooms as possible.
I am going to have to move a large bunch of shrooms and add new
rock for the Anemone's to attach to very soon.

And another view from the end of this tank.
As you can see the shrooms are taking over, and the Anemones
will shrink away from them.
So I have to keep moving the shrooms so that they do not touch
any of the Anemones.
So remember, there is usually a battle for turf in tanks. So keep an eye
out for any stinging going on and move what is doing the worst fighting.
But as you can see, many things can be kept with Anemones with not much
trouble, just keep a close watch.
